Auf der Suche nach .svg Icons

Ich war letztens auf der Suche nach svg Icons für meinen Desktop. Ich wollte auf dem Desktop ein paar Icons größer ziehen, was mit normalen Pixelbildern natürlich ziemlich bescheiden aussieht. Ich bin bei meiner Suche auf diese Seite gestoßen: http://svgicons.o7a.net/. Hier finden sich die Icons von einigen Programmen. Ziemlich nützlich.

Der Fluch der immer kleineren Handys

Heutzutage wird ja alles kleiner und besser, was mit Technik zu tun hat, so auch die Handys. Leider führt das zu einem für mich wirklich nervigen Problem: Der Vibrationsalarm wird wirkungslos. Ist euch das auch schon aufgefallen? Wo man früher deutlich gemerkt (wenn Handy in der Hose ist) oder gehört (wenn das Handy auf dem Tisch lag), dass jemand anruft oder man eine SMS erhalten hat, bekommt man heute nichts mehr mit, sei es, weil man den Ton nicht an hat oder die Umgebung zu laut ist. Man schaut ja auch nicht jede 5 Minuten einfach so auf sein Handy. So kam es in letzter Zeit sehr oft vor, dass ich einfach verpennt hab, dass sich das kleine Ding gemeldet hat. Vielleicht liegt es ja auch nur an dem Modell. Ich besitze seit 1-2 Monaten ein W910. Vorher hatte ich ein W850. Dieses Handy machte bei Vibrationsalarm wirklich auf sich aufmerksam. Das ist fast die einzige Sache, welche ich am alten Handy wirklich besser fand. Nunja, kennt das noch jemand?

Eine eigene Schriftart erstellen

Wer schon immer seine eigene Schriftart erstellen wollte, hat nun auf http://fontstruct.fontshop.com die Möglichkeit dazu. Man muss sich allerdings kurz anmelden. Ist aber kostenlos. Danach kann man sofort im Editor loslegen. Ich habe noch nichts fertig vorzuweisen, kann allerdings sagen, dass der Editor sehr einfach und intuitiv zu bedienen ist. Soweit ich weiß kann man seine Schrift anschließend auch fertig herunterladen und verwenden. Das ist doch wunderbar!

Kennt ihr schon das „Binary Solo“?

Als ich letztens mal wieder auf der Suche nach neuer Musik war, bin ich über das Dou „Flight of the Conchords“ gestolpert. Sagt einem erstmal nichts. Nach weiterer Recherche findet man heraus, dass es sich hierbei um zwei Neuseeländer handelt, welche Hauptpersonen einer Serie auf HBO sind.
Sie bezeichnen sich selbst als das vierterfolgreichste „guitar-based digi-bongo acapella-rap-funk-comedy folk duo“ Neuseelands.
Es ist unschwer zu erkenne, dass man es hier mit besonders lustigen Kameraden zu tun hat und das spiegelt sich auch in dem Album wieder. Das muss man echt mal gehört haben. Anspieltipps sind:
Business Time, Robots und das bis ins unkenntliche zensierte Mutha’Uckas. Besonders Robots hats mir angetan. Das Lied sprüht nur so vor Witz. Als Vorgeschmack also einmal ein Live Auftritt als YouTube-Video. Die Lyrics, welche ich gefunden habe, passen allerdings nicht so ganz zu dieser Version des Liedes.
